| Shared note | Date based on daughter Mary's baptism record, although no marriage is recorded in the register. Notes from Richard Grylls: On my tree 4A (shown in my book 'Grylls and Grills' - copies in the Morrab (private) Library, and at CSC Redruth) there is a GRILLS/EDDY marriage, [which] I have never been able to find, but it must have happened in about 1763, most probably in St. Just and merely omitted from the register. Thomas EDDY married Mary (b.1734 Southill), the daughter of Henry GRILLS and Mary nee JORDAN. The whole family were well settled in St. Just by 1763. I know the marriage happened because 'my sister Mary Eddy' is mentioned in the will of Mary's brother, Henry GRILLS (d.1782). Thomas EDDY also signed his name in the GRILLS family bible. |
