Transcribed as John WATERS by Cornwall OPC, but several children baptised to James and Susanna. Looking on Ancestry.com, their source 'England, Select Marriages, 1538– 1973' list 2 different marriages to a Susanna EDDY: 1. James WALTERS, 21 Dec 1822 St Just (so different forename and surname to the above transcription) 2. John WATERS, 21 Dec 1821 St Just. However, the exact sources of this information are unclear and users are urged to consult the originals!

The CFHS transcription is for John WATERS, 21 Dec 1822, St Just.

Given that the CFHS and Cornwall OPC would've been viewing the originals (or images of), the register probably does show John, but this may have been written down in error in the original register? John was probably illiterate as he only made his mark rather than signing, so he wouldn't have spotted the error. Despite the marriage register I'm still inclined to believe Susanna's husband was named James as this was the father's name recorded at 10 baptism entries.
