Marriage

Notes from Geoff McKee: Benjamin EDDY (son of James EDDY and Mary JEFFERY) miner of Trewellard, bachelor (23) married Mary NEWTON (daughter of Samuel NEWTON and Ann RICHARDS) spinster of Churchtown (21) 5 Aug 1848 St Just by banns, both of this parish.

Shared note

Previously I had Mary's baptism as 18 Nov 1827 in St Just, daughter of Henry NEWTON and Martha GRENFELL. However, an alternative was proposed by Geoff McKee, baptised 12 Nov 1826 in Gulval, daughter of Samuel NEWTON and Ann RICHARDS, which I believe is probably correct given that Benjamin and Mary had a son named Samuel and also Mary's birth place was given as Gulval in the census returns.
