Shared note

There is a baptism recorded for a Susanna EDDY, daughter of William and Ann, 23 Feb 1794, St Just in Penwith, which I believe is the daughter of this William - the name being passed down from his mother. Unfortunately, there are 3 possible marriages between a William EDDY and an Ann: (a) Ann MASON, 22 May 1777, St Just in Penwith (b) Ann TRUDGEN, 31 Oct 1784, St Just in Penwith (c) Ann RESEIGH, 17 Feb 1787, St Just in Penwith

Of these, (a) states William as of "Mervah" (i.e. Morvah), which eliminates that one. Then, by looking at all the William EDDYs baptised in St Just, all the marriages and the burials, by elimination we only have 2 William EDDYs (D) and (F) to partner wives (b) and (c): (A) 25 Aug 1733 son of William EDDY (and probably Bridget BAYNARD), married Mary HOCKING (B) 16 Mar 1734 son of Peter EDDY (and probably Jane BENNETTS), buried 30 Oct 1740 (C) 23 Mar 1750 son of John EDDY & Mary MATTHEW, married Mary BOSENCE and was buried 28 Nov 1782 (D) 12 May 1754 son of John EDDY & Susanna (E) 10 Nov 1764 base son of William EDDY married Mary GRENFELL (F) 01 Jan 1766 base son of William EDDY & Mary WARREN (G) 15 Apr 1769 son of Thomas EDDY & Mary, buried 29 Nov 1776

William (F) would have been 18 years old if he had married (b) which seems unlikely, so, based on these assumptions I believe (F) married (c) and (D) married (b).

Possible siblings for Susanna are Elizabeth, 23 Sep 1787 and Thomas, 02 Feb 1800, but I cannot be sure that these children don't belong to one of the other William and Ann couples mentioned.

Died aged 61, buried 5 Jul 1815 suggests he was born before 5 Jul 1754, which tallies very well with being baptised 12 May 1754. The only other possible baptism to fit this burial would be 26 Jan 1755 in Zennor, son of William and Mary.
