(Probably not this John as he was baptised in 1749 so would've been abt 17 which is suspiciously young. Also, this marriage was witnessed by a John EDDY, probably father of the groom.) 2. John EDDY and Mary HODGE, 1 Jan 1770 Madron. (Probably not this John as there was a witness, Richard DELAHAY, who would've been brother in law to the John EDDY to whom I've attributed this marriage.) 3. Marriages 3, 4, 6 and 7 are the more likely and whilst looking into children baptised to John and Mary/Ann/Joan/Rachel, there is one baptism that immediately stands out: Susanna EDDY, 26 Mar 1786 St Just, daughter of John and Mary. Presumably Susanna would have been named after this John's mother and therefore I believe that marriage 3 is the correct one. |
