| Shared note | Around 1773 when son Richard was baptised, there are several other children baptised to a Philip with no mother mentioned. There is also more than one Philip at that time producing children, so ascertaining which child belongs to which Philip may be difficult. From 1745-1763 there are several children baptised in Zennor to Philip and Elizabeth (nee Osborne). In 1769 there are 2 Philip Eddy marriages, one to Elizabeth Thomas (witnessed by Hannibal Thomas, who is possibly the source of the name Hannibal being passed down) and the other to Catherine Eddy (witnesses are Philip Eddy junior and Patrick Eddy). The 'junior' is significant as it suggests he is son of another Philip that is still alive - possibly Philip that married Elizabeth Osborne as their first son was Philip in 1745. |
