| Shared note | Marriage transcription shows Elizabeth's surname as Thomas and that she is a spinster, and yet her father's name is recorded as Matthew Richards. Her age in the 1851 census was 38 and there is a baptism record for an Elizabeth Richards in Zennor, 10 Jan 1813, dau of Matthew and Jane. So it would appear the father's name is correct in the marriage transcription. Was Elizabeth previously married to a Thomas? The 1851 census also appears to show a daughter of Elizabeth, named Elizabeth aged 15. There is a baptism for an Elizabeth Thomas, Zennor, 27 Dec 1835, dau of Thomas (miner of churchtown) and Elizabeth that would match. However I've not yet found a burial for a Thomas Thomas. Needs further investigation. |
