Clem, Your message interested me because I am trying to find connections with o ne of my ancestors named Amey EDDY who was born about 1795, but just where and who were her parents is my problem. She married John RICHARDS in 1821 in St. Austell, but unfortunately I ha ve not been able to locate his parents or birthplace. Consequently I investigate all EDDY or RICHARDS names that I encounter. In following up the information in your message I have found records of t he marriage of Hannibal EDDY and Eliza DEBNAM in Qld. on 13/12/1884. They had a son Hannibal William Richard EDDY born on 6/6/1887 and who di ed on 7/11/1887. Eliza also died on 8/11/1887. There is a further marriage record of Hannibal EDDY to Ellen TREVETH AN on 20/7/1889. I have found records of the birth of Elizabeth on 8/6/1890, Michael Trevit hian on 3/9/1892, Hannibal on 14/5/1895 and William on 15/8/1896 in Queens land to these parents. I presume that both these marriages refer to the Hannibal EDDY who is t he subject of your message, and I would be grateful for confirmation of t his. Also I would like to have any further information you may be able to gi ve me concerning this family particularly if there are any references to A mey EDDY or her marriage to John RICHARDS. They arrived in South Australia in 1846 with a family of nine children a nd I would be pleased to let you have any further information concerning t heir subsequent history that may interest you.
