| Shared note | The only Hodge family in the area at that time were in St Levan, with several children baptised to a Richard Hodge. I had hoped to find a John Hodge amongst them as a John Hodge had witnessed the marriage between John Eddy and Mary Hodge. Unfortunately no such immediate connection was found. However, as this family has a baptism for a Mary at the right time, and that no other Hodge family were nearby, I have assumed them to be this Mary's family. There was a John Hodge in St Buryan, but have not yet found a family connection. At best he was a 2nd cousin to Mary... so why ask him to be witness? Maybe Mary had a brother John whose baptism wasn't recorded? |
