According to daughter Ellen's obituary, John, Susan and Ellen (and other siblings) emigrated to Australia in 1866 on board the Salamanca. The family went directly to Moonta Mines, although later Ellen married Henry Adams and they moved to Adelaide. Obituary: The South Australian Advertiser, Thursday 16 November 1882 (Adelaide, South Australia) DEATHS EDDY.— On the 8th November, at his residence, Moonta Mines, after a long and painful illness, borne with Christian fortitude, John, the beloved husband of Susan Eddy, formerly of Cornwall, England, leaving one son and four daughters to mourn their loss.
