Shared note

I can't be sure about this marriage, but there is a Cordelia EDDY as a witness at the marriage between Matthew EDDY and Honour TOMAN on 30 May 1761 in Madron. This doesn't prove anything but it does show that Cordelia EDDY having a connection with an EDDY family that uses Matthew as a forename. Given that John and Cordelia married in 1749, and Cordelia was a witness in 1761, Matthew could not have been their son. Instead Matthew could have been John's brother or possibly nephew.

Notes from Geoff McKee: The will made 23 Feb 1765 by James WEARN of Gulval named four grandchildren, the children of daughter Cordelia by her husband John EDDY. It was proved 22 Mar 1765.

Baptism register entries for Delia, James, John, John and Anne only recorded the father's name, and therefore could have been incorrectly allocated.
