Shared note

Notes from Geoff McKee: William was baptised 10 Mar 1850 in St Just, his father a miner of Truthwall.

Although I can't be sure, I believe that this William was the one that married Jane Pascoe Burton on the 17th May 1873 in Penzance. The ages given in the census returns point towards birth/baptism around 1849/1850, and that he was from St Just. Baptisms for the William EDDYs that match these criteria are: (a) William Henry EDDY son of Andrew EDDY & Jane -, 23 Oct 1849 Pendeen (b) William EDDY son of William EDDY & Patience -, 4 Nov 1849 Morvah
(c) William EDDY son of William EDDY & Mary -, 10 Mar 1850 St Just in Penwith (d) William EDDY son of Richard EDDY & Margaret -, 2 Nov 1851 St Just in Penwith

Of these I believe (b) married Jane WILLIAMS and was in Cumberland for the 1881 census. The father of (d) was a lighthouse keeper in the 1851 census, but I can't find this family in later censuses. Although I'm not sure what happened to (a) (and (d)), I think (c) is the correct William to have married Jane Pascoe BURTON. Their first daughter was named Mary Jane - the Mary possibly from William's mother.
