Note from Geoff McKee: Also in the 1851 Census also had No.19 at Chapel St., Lafrowda, St Just Elizabeth EDDY, 13, b. St Just; servant with Matthew and Nanny EDDY and family. Matthew would have been Elizabeth's uncle - there are other Elizabeth's that could have been the servant with Matthew and Nanny.

In the 1861 census, all born at St Just, reference St Just 9-81(Kenidjack): EDDY«tab»William«tab»«tab»Head«tab»M«tab»48«tab» EDDY«tab»Constance«tab»Wife«tab»M«tab»47«tab» EDDY«tab»Mary A«tab»«tab»Daughter«tab»U«tab»17«tab» EDDY«tab»Eliza A«tab»«tab»Daughter«tab»U«tab»15«tab» EDDY«tab»Henry«tab»«tab»Son«tab»-«tab»12«tab» EDDY«tab»John H«tab»«tab»Son«tab»-«tab»10«tab»

In looking for a baptism entry for a William EDDY about 1813 in St Just (birth year and location according to Census returns shown) there is only one appropriate entry, 27 Sep 1812, son of William and Elizabeth. The problem is that there were several William and Elizabeth couples that could be the parents. Geoff McKee proposes William EDDY and Elizabeth GRILLS, and I believe this is probably correct. After William snr died in 1853, it looks like William and Constance returned to Kenidjack.

There is a Monumental Inscription in St Just Church which reads "My dear father & mother W & C EDDY of Kenidjack". I believe this MI could refer to William and Constance given that they were recorded in the censuses at Kenidjack. However, as there are no dates or ages I can't be sure, and also as William and Constance had several children, it is suspicious that the MI reads "my" instead of "our". One alternative could be their son William and wife Caroline WATTERS.
