| Shared note | In the IGI, name recorded as Jacob EADY. In Phillimore and Taylor, the marriage between Jacob EDDY and Grace CHYRGWIN 1 Jan 1781 has them both recorded as widows. The only marriage I found before this date is Jacob and Elizabeth GORNINAN, 15 Jan 1767. Therefore all children born to "Jacob and Elizabeth" after 1781 must belong to Jacob and Elizabeth BOSPIDNECK, married 13 Jan 1784, St Just in Penwith. Looking for baptisms for Jacob, there are the following, son of: (a) John EDY & Mary -, 24 Dec 1731, St Just in Penwith (b) Oliver EDDY & Elizabeth -, 20 Feb 1742, St Just in Penwith (c) Jacob EADY & Mary, 8 Jun 1760, Sancreed As Jacob had children until 1810, I think that (a) and (b) would have been too old, leaving (c) as the correct baptism for this Jacob. The naming pattern of Jacob's children supports (c) as Jacob, Richard, Mary and Elizabeth are all names used in both families. Geoff McKee proposes that she is Jacob senior's granddaughter - William being Jacob's 2nd son to be named William, born abt 1812. |
