Shared note

Originally had Walter's birth year as 1866, but now believe this to be incorrect (see notes under his father, Benjamin).

Alt Death: 14 Aug 1914 Kalgoorlie, WA

Notes from David John & Lorraine Eddy: Walter was the last surviving child and was one year old when he arrived in South Australia in 1876. He also followed the family around all the mine sites they worked and arrived in Albany, Western Australia aboard the "Marloo" on February 1896 with his brother Thomas. He mined at the Paddington and Kanowna with his brothers James and Thomas in 1902. In 1908 he was at the West Boulder Lease and living with his sister-in-law Elizabeth widow of his brother Samuel who died in a mine collapse. He supported Elizabeth and her children and much can be said of the calibre of this family. Aged 39 years he was killed in a mine collapse on August 31st, 1914. He never married.
