| Shared note | There were in fact two men by the name William James Eddy working at Block 14 mine in Broken Hill. This W J Eddy was a foreman. The other W J Eddy died accidentally, suffocated by gas while trying to extinguish a fire in the mine on 21st October 1908. (See I45670). |
