| Shared note | Matthew's sons Matthew and Jacob's baptism entries only list the father, Matthew EDY. As I can find no other marriage for a Matthew around that time, I think Matthew and Jacob belong to Matthew and Joan. Also, since Matthew and Joan married in 1693, and the first baptism I can find which mentions both of them is William in 1701 there is a gap of 8 years in which I would expect to find other children to this couple. There is another baptism transcription, recorded by the CFHS as Charles EDY, son of Matthew [John] ? EDY & - -, 29 Jun 1694 in St Just in Penwith. I believe this is probably mis-transcribed from Matthew and Joan EDY. The naming pattern would fit since Matthew had a brother Charles. The only baptism I can find for a Mathew/Matthew EDY/EDDY is that of Matthew EDY son of Methuselah EDY & Sarah -, 25 Sep 1675, St Just in Penwith. There are two possible burial records that I have found for Matthew EDY, either 05 Mar 1719 or Feb 1723 in St Just in Penwith. |
