| Shared note | There is only one appropriate marriage I can find before 1763 involving a James EDDY, namely 22 Oct 1759 in Madron with Blanch HALL. There were several children baptised to just a James EDDY in Madron, but in the absence of any alternative, I believe they are the children of this couple. I can find only one appropriate baptism record for this James, namely 22 Oct 1735, Madron, son of Stephen EDDY. This would explain the name chosen for James's first son - perhaps his father had died so he named his first son after his father instead of himself as was the norm. |
