| Shared note | From Geoff Mckee, there was a witness named Jakeh EDDY (and the other Nicholas RESEIGH) when William DANIEL married Jane EDDY 6 Oct 1799. Jane was the daughter of Matthew EDDY who married Elizabeth COLINS (she is mentioned as his daughter, Jane DANIEL, and I can find no other Jane EDDYs that married a DANIEL). Also, Jakeh was a witness (along with Thos. TREGEAR) at the marriage of William EDDY (also the son of Matthew EDDY and Elizabeth COLINS) and Elizabeth GRILLS on 23 May 1811 in St Just. The witness Jakeh referred to above could well be this Jakeh, but I can't yet find a connection between the two EDDY branches. Another marriage at which this Jakeh could have been a witness is the following (from Geoff McKee): John EDDY married Elizabeth LEAH (daughter of James LEAH and Mary ?) 12 Dec 1807 in St Just by banns, both single, both of this parish, in the presence of Jakeh EDDY and Thos. TREGEAR. Perhaps Jakeh was heavily involved in the church... |
