Notes from Michael Wheatley: In Sept 1865 Stephen married Jane Stevens Ward at Helston, Cornwall (src: England & Wales FreeBMD Marriage Index) On 1 Nov 1865 Stephen and Jane left Plymouth on the Salamanca (src: Trove newspapers) On 18 Jan 1866 they arrived in Adelaide, South Australia (src: Trove newspapers) On 24 Jun 1870 their son Alfred Henry Ward Eddy was born at Hill End, Tambaroora, New South Wales. Stephen's occupation was gold miner. (src: birth certificate) In 1874 Stephen was working as mine manager for a tin mine in Tasmania (src: Trove newspapers) In 1879, their son Francis Ernest Eddy was born at Parkside, Adelaide, South Australia. Stephen's occupation was contractor (src: transcript of birth certificate) In 1887 Stephen was working at Broken Hill, New South Wales, as mine manager. In 1891 Stephen was mine manager of Globe Consols mine in Broken Hill, New South Wales. In 1895 Stephen moved to Kalgoorlie, Western Australia (src: Trove newspapers) From 1900-1906, Stephen was listed as miner in Greenbushes, Western Australia, a tin mining town (src: electoral rolls) Stephen died on 1 Sep 1913, in Perth, Western Australia. His occupation was listed as mine manager (src: death certificate)

I'm still working on some facts - I know he had at least a second and possibly a third marriage (both without surviving issue) and there's some more documents to check in the Western Australian State Records Office.
