| Shared note | Notes from Janice Allen: Went to Michigan in 1898 to be Captain of a mine in Calumet. He married the lodging housekeeper's daughter Annie LAWRY in 1903 and had 3 daughters. Unfortunately he was involved in a mine accident in 1911 when the shaft collapsed on him and he was killed. Annie went to visit her mother-in-law Elizabeth Ann CASLEY in Leicester with the 3 daughters, and fell in love with James' brother George. English law prevented a man from marrying his brother's wife, so they both went back to America and married. |
