He was 24 when he married and died in 1895 age 49. He came out from UK to manage a tin mine at Ringarooma Tasmania, and lived at Rosalie farm. He is buried in Tasmania. They had three children, Edith Hocking, Mabel Hocking and William Hocking. Obituary: The Launceston Examiner, Monday 15 May 1893 (Tasmania, Australia) DEATHS. HOCKING.-On 10th May, suddenly, at his residence, Roseleigh, Ringarooma, James Eddy Hocking, native of St. Just, Cornwall, England, aged 47 years.
