Although she was boarding in Pz in 1871, she could have moved. Perhaps in her final years with health declining she moved in with a relative. The burial shows her as of Calartha, which is where her granddaughter Elizabeth lived (daughter of William) with husband Benjamin Rowe. In 1871 there are 2 boarders living with them, one of which is John B Eddy who I suspect to be John Boyns Eddy, Elizabeth's brother (although not sure why he was recorded as a boarder and not brother-in-law to Benjamin). Perhaps Rebecca moved in with her granddaughter. I've been unable to find a baptism record for Rebecca. However, there was a couple, William and Margaret, that were recorded as having children baptised in St Just in the years immediately around 1790 when Rebecca would have been born. Also, as Margaret is a name given to a daughter of Rebecca's and 2 of her grandchildren, I think it quite likely that Rebecca was the child of William and Margaret. |
