Shared note

Previously I had John as the son of William EDDY and Elizabeth GRILLS, however, when John married Elizabeth TREZISE in 1839 he was recorded as aged 26 of Morvah, son of William a Victualler. This information matches William EDDY that married Elizabeth ROWE in 1801.

There are 2 baptisms in St Just in Penwith for a John son of William and Elizabeth, the other being 1 Nov 1813 in St Just in Penwith, and as William EDDY and Elizabeth ROWE were married in 1816, it would appear that the John baptised 1820 would belong to them, and John baptised 1813 would belong to William EDDY and Elizabeth GRILLS. In any case, it appears that one of the ages given for these 2 John EDDYs in the 1841 census is wrong.

Geoff McKee proposes that this John EDDY married Elizabeth TREZISE , but Geoff also notes for the marriage that John was listed as "of Morvah", casting some doubt over whether it was this John. For now, however, I have assumed this to be correct.
