However, Mary Ann's father may be incorrect as information on her death certificate suggests she was the daughter of James WILLIAMS and Sarah BAKER.

Also, it is interesting that James' residence is recorded as Church Town. His parents (I believe to be William EDDY and Elizabeth ROWE) were recorded as living at Truthwall in the 1841 census and 1851 census, i.e. either side of this marriage in 1845. I have checked for other marriages for a James EDDY, where he is recorded as of Truthwall, or Botallack, but can find none appropriate whose father is William. Therefore, I can only suggest that James had already moved out of the family home prior to marrying.

Shared note

Geoff McKee has Mary Ann WILLIAMS's parents as Thomas WILLIAMS - I'm not sure whether this was from the marriage certificate, or an assumption. However, the following transcription from Paul Chandler is the source of the assumptions I have made:

Victorian Death certificate (1899.12088) 4 December 1899, Dawson St, City of Ballarat, County of Grenville 77 yo Died of Senile ??? and organic heart disease; suffering for 3 years; last seen on 4 Oct 1899 Father: James Williams, a miner; Mother: Sarah Williams (nee Baker) Informant: William Eddy (son in law), 106 Dawson St Where born: Gloucestorshire; 32 years in Victoria Married at St Just Cornwall at 22 to James Eddy Issue: Mary Ann (54), Sarah Baker (57) and Elizabeth (49)

There is some information in the death notice of Mary Ann in the Ballarat Courier on 9/12/1899 (info also from Paul Chandler): Apparently, Mary Ann and Husband James arrived on 29/4/1867 on the "Sussex", following daughter Mary Ann (1865), and before daughters Sarah Baker and Elizabeth (in 1869). Need to check shipping records for all of this.
