| Shared note | There is a burial for an Oliver in St Just, 24 Feb 1837, aged 70 (therefore born abt 1767) which I believe is this Oliver. I can't find a baptism for this Oliver. Searching in the database of baptisms the CFHS has, there is only one Oliver EDDY, baptised 10 Jul 1714 in St Just in Penwith, son of Matthew EDY & Joan. Obviously this is not the Oliver in question, but it does demonstrate how rarely the Christian name is used in the EDDY line. This rarity would suggest that this Oliver and the Oliver baptised in 1714 are most probably related. In the absence of any other info, and based on the names of the first two children born to Oliver EDDY and Mary STEPHENS (Elizabeth and Jacob), I believe that Oliver is probably the son of Jacob EDDY and Elizabeth GORNINAN. This ties in well with the above comments made regarding the name Oliver, as Jacob was the son of the Oliver baptised 1714.
