Shared note

Children baptised in Zennor as children of Richard with no mother mentioned are: (a) Philip EDDY, 6 Feb 1807 (b) Richard EDDY, 17 Feb 1808 (c) Thomas EDDY, 27 Aug 1809 (d) David EDDY, 7 Jul 1811

Both Philip and Thomas are names passed down to the children of (b) (Richard's son Richard's children), so suspect they are this Richard's siblings.

In the 1841 census at Bosigran, Zennor (ref. 17-18): Eddy«tab»Richard«tab»70«tab»«tab»Farmer«tab»In county Eddy«tab»Jane«tab»«tab»65«tab»«tab»In county Eddy«tab»David«tab»30«tab»«tab»«tab»In county Phillips«tab»Elizabeth«tab»«tab»15«tab»Female Servant«tab»In county

I believe the above to be the correct entry for this Richard as it shows David (presumably his son) living with him and presumably unmarried. This matches well with David's marriage to Betsey Thomas on 3 Dec 1842 in Zennor, when he is recorded as being a bachelor.

There is a burial record for a Richard Eddy, 22 Jan 1849, Zennor, aged 77 of Bosigran. This matches well with the above Richard (1841 census ages were rounded down to nearest 5), and suggests a birth year of about 1772. The only baptism entry around that time is 3 Mar 1773, Zennor, son of Philip. Again, this matches well with this Richard for the dates and also that Richard's first son was named Philip.
