At last, an update to the database! Aside from a few additional branches and alterations here and there, the biggest difference in this update is the confidentiality cut-off date. I now exclude people that are set to living or were born or christened after 1 Jan 1915 (previously 1900).
This website contains family history data on the various occurrences of the EDDY surname in Cornwall.
The database includes descendants of the EDDY Patriarchs of Cornwall (see main Eddy family website), but for female lines it only shows their spouse and children. In the interests of confidentiality, I have tried not to publish details on anyone that is alive, or was born or christened after 1900. If you do find sensitive information, it is a genuine mistake and please do contact me about it.
Readers are encouraged to view the notes on individuals as these often contain information such as the reasoning behind any assumptions made.
The information so far published has only been possible thanks to the many contributions from other genealogists, and I appeal for your contributions if you can help the tree to grow or improve its accuracy. Contributors have kindly agreed for their work to be shared freely here, and so I ask that anyone using the information on this website does so without financial or commercial gain and also acknowledges the source.
I hope you find this information useful.
Data in the database has been updated! I had been putting this off for a while for fear of any problems. My fears were correct - the database fell over. Behind the scenes I've now changed the 'engine' that creates the database webpages. I previously used phpgedview but have now changed to webtrees. The look and feel is very similar (one was born from the other) so I hope users will easily adapt and be able to find their way around.
Unfortunately this means that any links to the old database will not work - apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. Search engines may also take some time to catch up with the changes. Hopefully webtrees will be a more stable platform but there may be teething troubles - please be patient while I try to fix them as it may take days, weeks or even months!
